The rear pipes turn up to follow the bottom frame rail on rigid frames. Heat shields are recommended on all rear pipes.

3-PIECE UPSWEEPS WITH OVER-THE-TRANSMISSION REAR PIPES FOR 1966-1969 SHOVELHEADS
An inside-the-frame front ‘squish’ pipe, and an upsweep rear pipe blend traditional and Chopper looks. These pipe sets fit Shovelhead engines in rigid frames with kick or electric start. The rear pipe will clear an electric start wraparound oil tank, and a Paughco #718-9 mounting hardware kit is included with Paughco #’s 716BA, 716BS and 716BST pipe sets.
